Filtration is the process of removing suspended solids from water by passing the water through a permeable fabric or porous bed of materials. Groundwater is naturally filtered as it flows through porous layers of soil. Some contaminants pose a threat to human health, and filtration is one of the oldest and simplest methods of removing them.

Scrufilter

The compact SCRUFILTER® units from TEKNOFANGHI can be used in many applications of micro-filtration in order to reduce fine suspended solids from water down to 20 microns. The reduction of suspended solids is accompanied by a reduction in COD, BOD5, phosphorus, nitrates and other substances.

In the case of further treatment with UV for disinfection it is important to reduce the turbidity caused by suspended solids.

Standard filters for SCRUFILTER are produced with supports in ABS and filter cloths in polyester. These can also be produced completely in stainless steel. The filter cloth is selected according to the requirements which can be 20 – 30 – 40 – 60 – 80 or 100 microns. On special request different filter sizes can be produced.

Typical Applications of Scrufilter:

  • Waste water treatment plants (improvement of discharge)
  • Waste water treatment plants (removal of phosphates)
  • Water recovery (food industry, textile, paper mill, etc.)
  • Beverage production plants
  • Fish-breeding farms
  • Filtration of surface water (river, lake, etc) and well water.

Membrane System

Greendex has the experience of design and built for different membrane system for water treatment. We offer Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis Systems suitable for tap, brackish or seawater desalination needs to meet a variety of small to large municipal, commercial and industrial applications.

We also offer Denora UAT™ EDI electrodeionization system, ideally suited for polishing reverse osmosis (RO) permeate, replacing conventional mixed bed ion exchange systems by eliminating the need to store and handle hazardous chemicals used for resin regeneration and associated waste neutralization requirements. Systems are available with a maximum permeate flow rate of 2.2 m³/h – 104 m³/h or 10 GPM – 460 GPM.

Case Study: Bukit Barun WTP

Greendex is the specialist sub-contractor for the Ultra Filtration membrane project for Bukit Barun drinking water treatment plant in Brunei. The project tested 10 million litres of water and proven that UF membranes can improve water quality, reduce chemical dependency, lower energy usage and improve public health. His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah and Senior Minister has graced the plant that was proven highly successful.

TETRA LP Block – Underdrain Filtration

TETRA LP blocks are popular with plant owners for their low headloss, lightweight construction and easy installation either as a retrofit or for new filter underdrain applications. The easy-to-assemble TETRA underdrain filters ensure exceptional installation strength, integrity and maintenance-free life with no moving or wearing parts.

The underdrain filters feature the GroutGrip™ design, which helps to alleviate the buoyancy inherent in any plastic underdrain installation. Additionally, the wide, low-profile design requires that fewer blocks be installed to cover a filter floor. Therefore, fewer joints and less grout are needed.

Greendex has a broad range of filtration technologies ranging from Physical to Biological Treatment to treat BOD, COD, Turbidity of water and wastewater quality.

Air is distributed evenly across the entire filter bottom area to scour the media and to provide an air lift which, with the water, removes the released solids from the filter. This dual backwash action provides intense washing energy throughout the filter.

In gravity filters, the underdrain is one of the most important components contributing to overall system performance and operation.

TETRA Submerged Aerated Filter – Ammonia Removal

Ammonia Removal System

TETRA SAF™, a simple process for the biological oxidation of ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N) and BOD for both municipal and industrial wastewaters. TETRA SAF offers exceptional performance, reliability, and operational and maintenance cost savings over competitive systems. TETRA SAF is an upflow,fixed-film biological reactor that uses coarse media requiring no backwashing. A robust and small footprint system, it can be used as either a secondary or tertiary treatment. When combined with primary and final settlement, TETRA SAF offers a complete high performance treatment process.

TETRA SAF

TETRA SAF is a simpler alternative to more complex treatments such as activated sludge and Biological Aerated Filters (BAF), which require more extensive operator input and process monitoring and control. The design encourages the growth of a robust biomass capable of consistently producing high quality effluents, even during large variations in hydraulic and biological loadings.

Ammonia and BOD can be removed in the same step or in separate reactors depending upon the wastewater treatment requirements. The biological reaction occurs in an aerobic environment. As the wastewater passes over the media, BOD and NH3-N are converted into biological solids. continuously released from the media bed. The solids are either removed via clarification or filtration depending upon system requirements.
